About Us
 
I have been involved in all things quilting for over 10 years.  First, as a student learning all I could and later, in the areas of retail, teaching and longarm quilting.  Having worked for Quilters General Store in Rockford, IL serving customers and continuing to teach classes there has been a wonderful learning experience.  With that knowledge and support of my family and friends, I made the decision to open a shop of my own - right now it will be on line only.
                                                                                         
 
 Open Gate Quilts is a pattern design company owned by my good friend, Monique Dillard.  Her expertise and attention to details is the result of teaching quilting classes for well over 15 years.  And still continuing to do so.  The quality of her patterns with their easy-to-follow directions, tips and pressing instructions make your projects come together easily and with more fun than stress.  After all, more finished quilts is always our goal!

Together Monique and I have co-authored three books, Country Gatherings, Cottage Collection and Circle of Friends.  All three are designed as Block-of-the-Month projects and give you many options and ideas for finishing your quilt.  We are offering either Roundabout or Woodstock Garden from Circle of Friends Block-of-the-Month that started in February, 2009.  You will find more details on the Block-of-the-Month page.
